Ok, this is my calendar for the world I am creating. If you feel like
it, read and critique. I haven't created the elven names, yet. But here
are the human words
60strings(seconds) = 1 minute
240 minutes = 1 hour
1.5 hours = one quadrant
4 quadrants = 1 day
9 days = 1 week
5 weeks = 1 month
8 months = 1 year (360 days)
..... every 8 years, there's a 42 day extra 'month'
8 years = 1 thread
8 threads = 1 weave (64 years)

Northern Elves:
Hair: Black, straight
Eyes: Brilliant Blue
Skin: Snow white
Society: live in caverns underground, use land, sea and cave life for sustinance in the bitter cold.
Light Elves
Hair: Sun-colored hair, wavy
Eyes: Cool grey eyes
Skin: Light colored skin
Society: Easily corrupted, they quest for power because they believe their physical form is the 'perfect ideal'.
Wood Elves
Hair: Fiery Red to Chestnut Brown, wavy
Eyes: Spring Green to Autumn Brown
Skin: Dull Copper
Society: Living in the trees, with their cities high above the ground. They have a system of baskets to get up there, and have physical as well as magical defenses to protect their cities
Sea Elves
Hair: Color of a stormy Sky, curly
Eyes: From a brilliant Yellow to the color of a starless sky
Skin: treated wood (light brown-dark brown)
Society: Masters of the waves, they delight in travel and seldom stay in one place for long. Their fleets range from a solitary boat, to over 50 traveling together. They are the merchants of the elven world.
