Here's the second and last Harry Potter-based poem of mine. Again, unbeta'd and staying that way. Same disclaimer as before (i.e. I own nadda) and the same warnings.
The Order of the Phoenix
Defiant to their surroundings they stand
Reaching for the skies, even in the darkness
Each with their own strength
Yet stronger together;
Like a field of daisies.
One by one they fade
Their beauty diminished by the ravages of living.
Forever gone but never forgotten
Always cherished in my mind;
Like a field of daisies.
The loss of one weakens the overall picture
Yet it remains strong in remembrance
The addition of one enhances the original
Yet doesn’t detract from it;
Like a field of daisies.
Night is always at the edge of the day,
Yet they strive to keep the light in plain sight.
Even in the darkest times
Knowing that they are there gets me through;
Like a field of daisies.
They’re few and far between these days
Mothers of children, social outcasts, Heads of Departments all joining together
For the will of the greater good
Differences are all put aside;
Like a field of wildflowers.
Knowing that He’s being fought
Makes me more determined to do my bit.
This picture keeps me going,
It keeps me sane;
This riotous field of the most fragrant and hardy flowers ever imagined.
Again, I hope you liked this and please keep in mind when commenting that this was written at least 5 years ago.
