There's something to be said about video games based on movie licenses. They generally suck. It's no mystery. Any gamer can come to that conclusion, and why shouldn't they? About 95% of them are quick cash-ins, specifically marketed to folks who simply don't know any better.

Note that I was one of the poor saps that got this sucker on launch day. Oh boy you DIDN'T get the worst of it. I remember entering the weapons range right at the start, and noticing all the textures that where a throwback to what games looked like back at the end of the 90's or early 00's. Calling them sub par with a PS2 is being generous! I will note that I played the PC version and apparently over the coming months Gearbox did fix the graphics to coincide with the DLC, but at that time nobody cared as the damage was done.
Oh and I forgot to mention graphics settings MAXED OUT!
Oh yeah as for the rest of the game I kept trying to like it for the first what? 2 levels but all the fun was sucked out when the human soldiers turned up. Poor level design, stupid AI, grenade spam. Honestly those guys where WORSE and harder to fight than the Xenomorphs. Oh and yes the plot was a total mess as well. Not overly crying about Hicks I just wished they had retconed Alien 3 totally to make it work, rather than worked around it, since you know we very clearly saw him die in that one.
Anyway this game was a mess, a train wreck of development (actually spanning a decade BTW, Aliens CM was originally slated for the PC and PS3 and cancelled TWICE before being given to gearbox) , involving outsourcing reworking and a LOT of cash from SEGA that was pumped not into Aliens AC but Borderlands 2 (gearbox's true baby). Tons of juicy drama, but worst game of 2013?
Trust me you haven't played Ride to Hell.... Oh dear dog that one makes Aliens CM look like a masterpiece!
