The Shared Dream
by Seth D. Fulmer
3/14/2012
It is in these days
at almost a quarter to two
that I wish I could create
a child of emotion
With a hurricane of laughter
and a Tsunami of passion
The beauty of a Sylph
and the rage of a dragon
A child formed from energy
at first simple and innocent
with matter joining the picture
and a glimmer in the sky
A full crafty spirit and
an intelligence unlike another
He would grow up speaking portuguese
french, spanish, latin, and german
He'd have a full head of hair
light brown but more dirty blonde
He'd be well endowed
and be a ladykiller as he grew old
He'd have the wisdom of priests,
of sages, oracles, and wisemen
He'd be able to speak to women well
and still be straight as his father
He'll be strong with a high constitution
He'll be courageous and charismatic
He'll be able to summon magic
through art, poetry, and music
The dream though is this however
Once his father wakes up
to go to work and deal with people
who tell him to live in the real world
The emotion in his eyes will die
and his magic will become silent
He'll put on a suit and kiss his wife good bye
and be off to go to work in the office
Later that night, after the father sleeps again
the child can be born again and frolic and play
The father has joy then to play in the castle
with his son and son's mother, the sorceress
The castle there is so big
The son has become king
A Bard like his old man
a magic user like his mother
The castle is well protected,
by an amniotic sac of passion
Nobody can get in to attack them
They can continue to play forever
Secretly in the dreams of his wife though
she dreams of herself as a sorceress
She rides a flying winged unicorn
and has a son worthy of empires
Her lord is a singer,
a rockstar at heart
He commands thousands of people
with the sound of his voice
She sees him as perfect
despite all the flaws
She soothes all his wounds
when he goes into battle
Reality sinks in
when they both have to wake
The astral link between them
is broken once again.
