Out for a bit

Dinner at Traffic Jam and Snug was overrated it was a 8$ dinner acting like a 13$ ala carte place. I would expect better for somewhere spoke so highly of in hour Detroit. The salad was cafeteria-esque but the meatloaf was super tasty. The place did have loads of atmosphere lofty ceilings with lots of eclectic antiques. The place it self was very cool.

The Masonic temple was beautiful as always, parking was a snap the performance was superb from the very beginning right through the end. This African American youg lady comes on stage dressed as rafiki the monkey, very low key costume and she opens up with that “Nants ingonyama bagithi baba” from the beginning of the circle of life and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Then all these animals start showing up in the audience and moving towards the stage.

The costumes in the play were killer just killer, they where the perfect blend of play / actor and animal. I would recommend it to just about everyone except kids. Kids under 8-10 wouldn’t get a lot out of this its not really a kids story it has some very dark moments. Plus with the going cost of tickets there is a lot more they would appreciate more. As always your mileage may vary.

Act two was great, was having a bad cramp in my chest so I went out side during intermission then back in for the second act. If you’ve seen the movie you know the story, so I wont go in to too many details bout the plot. Suffice to say all major elements of the movie are represented including timone and pumba hehe. Not as much comic relief there as in the movie but there was a little bit. All said and done a super play.

Getting out of Detroit at the end took a bit of doing but I made it back safe. So if you have the time go see it
