I'm getting to about the point where I need to acquire more contact lenses. I'm also kind of curious about color contact lenses. The problem is, natural colors would feel disingenuous. I mean, not that this would happen, but it'd be awkward if someone was like, "I like your eyes" when I was wearing color changing lenses. Also, eye color is one of the things I tend to notice about people I find attractive. And it's stupid but...yeah. Which makes me think the solution to that would be to get really unnatural colors. Which has me leaning towards silver or white. Except that I think theatrical lenses are probably rather expensive. Plus they'd need to be prescription. Which makes me sad 'cause I found some that are supposed to last for a year once opened that are around $30 for a pair, but if I want prescription, it's about twice that for a pair that says it lasts about 90 days. It'd also be kinda cool if they had contacts that acted like a mirror, but I don't know if that's possible.
Does anybody have any opinions/advice on colored contact lenses? About natural colors vs theatrical, prescription vs not (since I guess I could always get non-prescription and just wear glasses), places to buy them, or whatever? I also keep seeing stuff about how you need to have a prescription for contacts even if they are non-vision correcting lenses because they're FDA regulated or something. So anybody know about that stuff? Or know of signs to look for to avoid getting scammed by contacts that will do bad things or something?
I should probably also talk to eye doctor people here. Which means I need to build up my courage for that. Wheee...
