not so bright

I swear. No matter how many lights I have on in my room, it's still insanely dark. -_- I think I need stronger lights.

....

OOH! "Hathor"'s on! *does a dance* I love this SG-1 episode.

Or you should maybe stop wearing your sunglasses inside your room!

Ooo - yay! Another Stargate fan!

I don't like sunglasses. XD

Which makes it even stranger that you're wearing them in your room.

We own every season of SG-1 that's been released on dvd, as well as season 1 of Atlantis :)

Except I'm not. XD

Oh, damn. XD I'm working on collecting Babylon 5 first. Stargate's next.

I have to confess I never really got into Babylon 5. A lot of my friends who are sci-fi aficionado raved about it. But I watched a lot of episodes - gave it a fair chance - and still thought it was kinda dumb. And with poor acting, to boot!

Oh it's on now. XD You do not say I show I love has poor acting when their performances have made me cry with how fabulous they've been in some scenes.

However, B5's one of those shows where you have to watch it from the beginning in order to completely understand it. The majority of the plot threads in season one get tied up seasons later or something a character does in season 2 one truly becomes relevant in season 4 or something like that when you see what it causes. It's really an intricately done show. Hardly "dumb" as you put it.

See, I am willing to concede the point that I'm the odd-man out on B5. A dude I know who was one of the biggest acting snobs I know would always tout the great acting in the show. But when I watch it they always seemed stilted and wooden, to my ear.

I think I've most of seasons 1 and 2 and a bunch of 3 and 4.

The writing seemed good, but I didn't find the story very interesting.

Luckily I can honest here because you already think I'm icky :P

What counts as an "acting snob"?

See, the issue I've found a lot of people have had with scifi in general is their unwillingness to suspend disbelief and just let the world happen. You just kind of have to be willing to do that.

I think for every two out of three movies we saw, he would rant about the acting afterwards.

It could be the suspension of disbelief thing. And I tend to enjoy more episodic shows more. I think the longer a show tries to draw out story arcs, the more the inevitable plot holes and inconsistencies will bug me.

Honestly? No. ^^; I'm a Daniel Jackson fan.

Jackson gets some good lines, but he's sometimes too whiny.
