A note to my dearest Wii...

Dearest Wii -

I have loved you dearly. You have been a most loyal friend, and a trusted companion. I... Loved you.

but as of late, I have found you forsaking me. Attracting octogenarians AND small children alike. I can forgive you, my sweet, but there are things that tear my heart into a million polygons much like the ducks of days past...

You remember the ducks, Right? or... have you forgotten them, too?

I digress, However, and shall go to the point.
We had a date. It was Sunday, February 10th. I had called the entire day off to spend it with you. It was hard to get those precise days off... and then you call and leave a message on my machine.

"Hi, Brian. How are you? I'm doing alright. The Reason I'm calling is because I wanted to tell you that I won't be able to make it out on the 10th. Some emergency came up and I need to take care of it right away. Sadly, this will take me quite a while and I can't reschedule until March 9th. I know we're going through a rough patch, but just remember all the good times in our darkest hour. Remember Twilight Princess? Oh, What fun we had! And Galaxy... The memories are still on my mind from that!

Just know that I still care about you, Even with all my new friends. I promise I'll be online then, too... Just be patient with me.

I love you.
Goodbye."

I felt... Rejected.
Downtrodden.
Hopeless.

I HAD PLANS!! I had a deposit on the duck boats... The ones you stared at from the highway.
It's... non-refundable. Your Sister called yesterday, too... Not to mention your brother-in-law and Your cousin.

Here's what THEY left me -

"Hey, buddy! I heard you and Wii are going through a hard time right now... but that's what we're here for! I have the new Advance Wars coming later this month, not to mention Contra 4... And PS3 has Devil May Cry 4 coming! And 360 is getting out of rehab on thursday and he promises that he'll be online for you in a few days, Just in case you need some support.

We're all hoping for the best, Brian. Just hang in there."

Their words were reassuring, but one thing still lingered on my mind -

What if i was a little older... or maybe a little younger...
Curse my 20-year-old body, I say! Wii, I loved you! I stood up for you way back when everyone was making fun of you! I even introduced you to all the people that you hang out with more than me...

Please, sweetheart.
Please. i just want you back, And bring brawl with you.

I need you now more than ever.

I miss you.
Sincerely,
Brian.

P.S. - The Demo channel you gave to japan... I know about that too. No, I'm not angry, just a little upset that you haven't brought it to me yet. And Super Mario RPG on the VC isn't too much to ask for, Is it?

smash bros., writing, love note, wii
