Overview of 2012

So where to start???
In general it has been another good year for me - though of course there have been the usual bumpy bits along the way.
BUMPS;-
The first of these was suffering from post viral exhaaustion in the early part of the year after a particularly vicious fluey cold, and the second was the several leaks that the house developed during the course of the year.
Hoiwever both of these things were sorted out and recovered from and in terms of the house improved as I now have a decent central heating system which keeps the place WARM at long last.

Good Things:- Holidays. Several of these some planned and others not.
2 separate weeks at Sherwood Centerparcs. Both good for different reasons and spent with a terrific group of people.
I week with Seniorsis and The Hublet at their house. This was particularly good as it was spent in possibly the only summery week we had this year. We did silly things like travelling for free on the bus to Newbury and eating ice cream by the river. All good!!
1 week when they came to me and we did lots of out and abouting  - again mostly for free on the buses - and a good and inexpensive time was had by all.
Several outings to various p-laces with the Sweetie and many good meals out.
A trip out to Martin Mere shared with another favourite person.
Finally finding and joining a gym, that suits me and gaining the benefit from going regularly.
Joining a new Art class and making a huge leap forward quite suddenly (very unexpected that!)
Watching the Spanish and Bell Ringing groups come together and start to improve.
Having lots of visitors randomly throughout the year and seeing much more of FireKitten as well.
Making it to a few more of the Pagan Rituals - though still not enough of them.
Wandering around the Park/Woodland/Beautiful places with my camera and capturing great memories.
Reading both normal books and e-books , courtesy of my lovely Xmas present last year. I managed a total of 146 books this year (almost double the previous year).
Managing to save some money in spite of the above mentioned holidays and the new washing machine.

Other Stuff:-
Unfortunately though the year was quite kind to me this was not the case for several of my friends.
GreekyPat was constantly ill both with stress and various bugs for most of the year and now has to have another operation on her foot.
Biggarden had several falls in her garden and damaged her bad back on more than one occasion. She really needs more surgery on it but is afraid they will make it worse so is trying to cope without.
Cheshcat had major surgery on one of her legs and has spent most of the year with limited movement as she has been slowly recovering
Nomad had to go into hospital and have his gall bladder removed (been there, done that, not funny)
AceLightening, after beating the big C twice , was attacked by Hurrican Sandy (or at least her house was) and is still living with the aftermath of the devastation, though it is slowly getting back to normal.
And the weather in England was miserable, dreary and damp for most of the year
So all in all very much a "Curate's Egg" sort of year.

And as for 2013................
Well, my first holiday (a week in a caravan in Newquay with Seniorsis and The Hublet) is already in the diary.
Also in the diary A Falconry day, History Society Annual Dinner, Spanish Group evening out and Imbolc, the first of the rituals for 2013.
I've started back at the gym (new programme on Thursday).
And I am starting the year 5lbs lighter and a dress size smaller than the beginning of 2012.

Bring it on!!!!!
