heheheheh! So true! I can't tell you how many times I have inadvertantly while speaking added "en" instead of "ed" to change something to past tense. I know what is correct but for some reason it comes out wrong.

We learned ENglish because we learned the spoken language before the written for the most part. And they teach the wrritten language using the special rules in the first place, so it's ingrained. :D Kind of like how Pete mentioned Japanese being the hardest... if I remember right, it's the written language of Japanese that's a lot harder than the spoken language as well. :D
