RANT ALERT!!!!
oh god!! Someone posted this "hacker" warning on my friends facebook wall (sorry Debbie I just have to rant some more!!) here I'll post it....
"If some boy called bum_tnoo7@hotmail.com adds u don't accept it because its a hacker!!
Tell everyone on your list because if somebody on your list adds them u get them on your list he'll figure out Your ID computer address, so copy and paste this message to everyone even if u don't care for them and fast cause if he hacks their email he hacks your mail too!!!"
Now, this MAY be true, but i seriously seriously serioulsy for real doubt that a hacker can get into your account and mess around with shit even if YOU added him, more or less if someone else on your friends page added him!! I mean how the hell is that possible?? "Oh good! this Jessi girl added me as a friend! Good thing my email address is actually a "secret hacker code" that all us hackers use to infultrate other people's computers who happen to also be friends with people's computer!!!"
Come on people!! It's not as easy to hack into another computer as you THINK it is! This is not some stupid movie where some 38 year old loser with pop bottle glasses and serious skin problems can sit in his parents house and hack into top secret computer files just by hitting SHIFT F3!!!
and what the hell is an "ID computer address"? Do they mean the IP adress? All that means is that they can figure out what computer your sending from, and that information is really not that difficult to find! Plus what damage can they do from knowing that?
Most hackers get into your computer because they trick you into actually GIVING them stuff! Like the ebay scam where they send you a fake email saying you need to update your profile by resubmitting your credit info and junk...or maybe sending you a fake link that you have to acutally click on and download. THAT is how they get you!!! Not by having you add them as a friend, or by simply sending you an email.
The only reason this bothers me is because shit like this makes people (like my mother) paranoid about every aspect of the internet!! Sure you have to be careful, but why make up ridiculous virus warnings, or hacker warnings, or other crap like that?
Oh and I'm not even going to point out all the grammer issues in that message....
