I'm really enjoying being home. Even though I had a fantastic time in Japan last winter, it still sucked not being home for the holidays. Thankfully, Alberta is a hell of a lot closer (and has much cheaper flights,) so coming home wasn't a problem. It's been pretty chill so far; I've been hanging with my dad and the dog (Soupy is so cute!) and getting ready for Christmas. I've already wrapped all the presents, and dad is in full cookie-production mode. My mom's had school all week, but she played hooky on Wednesday so we could go shopping. (I love how much cheaper things are here. Canadian taxes make everything too expensive up there.)
I'm only here for two and a half more weeks, but here's what I have planned:
Today: Supervise cookie baking (very important.) Help clean the house tonight.
Christmas Eve: Going to my aunt's house in the morning with everyone on my dad's side of the family for Christmas brunch. Back in Philly in the afternoon, and over to my other aunt's house on the other side of the family for traditional Christmas Eve party.
Christmas: Party at my house. Lasagna will be consumed.
Dec. 26: Meeting
anyagee for lunch and adventures since she's in the area.
Dec. 27: Party at Alicia's house.
Dec. 28: Eye appointment in the morning, then going to my grandmom's house.
Dec. 31: Some kind of New Year's Eve event with
1_more_goth and anyone else we can find in the area.
Jan. 4: Going to NYC for the day with
1_more_goth and
hikarikagami to see Darren Criss in How to Succeed in Business!!!
Jan. 8: Fly back to Edmonton. My classes start on the 10th.
If anybody else is around and wants to hang out, let me know! I won't be back in Philly again till the summer. (Dates TBD, probably July/August.)
