welcome to Georgia

One of the billboards I pass almost every day is for a radio station. It has the station's letters on a white background, and next to that, in giant, capital letters: LIBERALS HATE IT.

Yeah. Isn't it lovely?

Sets my blood aflame.

I used to laugh whenever I saw it; now I just shake my head with a bemused smile. I bet if I actually listened to it my blood would be likewise flamey, though.

It was nice meeting you the other night...

I hate that billboard... However, in defense, I offer up this slightly less offensive billboard as my favorite: Ostrich

Nice meeting you too. And now I so want to steal that Ostrich billboard.

No clue. I've never listened. The other comments on this post would seem to indicate it's a pretty widespread station though, so maybe you'll come across it yourself sometime ....

There's one in Chicago for it, right at the Edens Kennedy junction.

Exact same text.

Really? Wow. Silly me. And here I thought it was a signifier of how deep I am in Red territory.

Welcome to Georgia, where a legitimate war hero who lost three limbs in the Vietnam war gets voted out of office through a smear campaign comparing him to Saddam Hussein, replaced by a draft-dodging rich kid who got a permanent deferrment due to a well-timed skiing accident.

Welcome to my political reality for the last four years. At least I've been able to take solace in the fact that the Dems in NC run almost everything at state level office.

Why do you still live down there, anyway?

School. Even though the politics suck in state at the moment, Chapel Hill is the best public law school in the nation. Between my GPA, my (hopefully good) score on the LSATs, and my work on the Senate campaign of the new UNC System President, I should be able to get in.
