Cousin Manda: Lydia, if you ever decide to get married -- and I don't know why you would! -- we will all be there to try and talk you out of it.

RANGERI know you've probably seen all those RPG-motivational posters, but this is totally the funniest one, encapsulating everything that is wrong with D&D in one fell swoop. (And if you're tired of how much I bitch about D&D,
this may help. Actually it's sort of comforting that that was made, since it indicates that many other gamers exist who also constantly bitch about it.)
edit yeah the links are weird, check the comments. /edit
Old thread: a gamer chick asks the age-old question, "Can one date non-gamers?"This may be more relevant for me than most of my audience.
Intellectual property run amokHave I posted this before? I bet I have.
An interview with Dr. Yvan DutilMost people see SETI (the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) as a project for merely listening for signals from other stars, but Dr. Yvan Dutil and Stephane Dumas from the Defence Research Establishment Valcartier in Canada had other ideas in mind when they composed a message sent to the stars last year.
The message they sent was only the second serious attempt to actively signal civilizations around other stars; the first was in 1974 by the founder of the SETI Institute Frank Drake (also known for Drake's equation). Unlike's Drake's message, the message sent last year was written in the Lincos mathematical language.
Old, but intriguing.
