Riders on the Storm

Have you ever been so busy, that you try to split off into three diffrent directions and just stall out? Where your mind just empties of everything it is that your suppost to do because you overloaded it, and you just stand there staring dumbly at everything around you?
Thats how I felt last week.
But, I managed to pull through it all sucessfully. There were a couple of hairy moments-like staying up till seven o'clock in the morning to finish that freaking plauge of a paper. I cant beleive that my teacher wanted 15 pages out of us. It was only an introductory eight week class! That, on top of the five page interview paper due three weeks before, the novel that we were suppost to read and the 200 page course pack! I am not even exaggerating. It was rediculous. Now I realize what my classmates had realized before me. I was originally confused as to why the students were so unrully and angry at her. Now, I can understand. My other class was great. My Brit Lit teacher didnt overload us, but gave us enough work so that we learned alot, and it was moderatly difficult.
Anyway, Im done with those classes and just have this on-line class in American Government. Now I can concentrate on the other things that I have been putting off foe weeks...no months now!
Like finally putting patches on these holy jeans, and putting together that scrapbook, getting out those sketch pencils and developing all of the other things that have been marinating in the back of my head.
One of these ideas is finally coming into fruition with the help of one of my technologically gifted friends. We are going to put together an electronic Zine. Its going to be called...I dont think Ill say just yet. Better wait till its done and then I can just tell y'all to go check it out. I was planning on doing this on real paper, but it never happened and I examined the reasons why. One of those reasons was the medium that I chose to use. It is expensive and way more leggwork to create it on paper than it is do dedicate it on a webpage. One of our themes is to use technology in a creative and responsible way. So we are going to try to combine some physical liturature as well as the electronic (perhaps a letter sent to a particularily good entry, or to give awards every month for the best poem, ect_
I would urge you all to submit to it and check it out. E-mail me if you have any insights into the project, or want to help out.

My birthday was kick ass. It wasnt the usuall huge bash, but I think that it was just as good- if for different reasons. I just dont think that the birthday thing would ahve been good for this year. Something about it felt jinxed. So I wasnt all that upset when I called and it was booked. It was alot less work and a lot less expensive. I did think that it was going to rain hardcore there for a minute. There were all these giant black and purple clouds that blew in and I could see under all of the leaves. But, I didnt, the gods were cutting me some slack that day. it all blew over and got all bright and sunny for the rest of the day. We grilled up some veggie burgers and drank rolling rock all day in the park, played frisbee with my dog Bella, the boys went frisbee golfing, and later we all trooped back to my house for some serious cards and charades. I almose died laughing when one of my friends tried to mime "raging tricerotops", or "gyratting armchair"! It was hysterical. You can always tell whos got the connection on a team, when your playing chardes. It was all about me and larry. all he had to do was slant his eyes, hold up his arm, point to his elbow and I got "Okinowa" (but im pretty sure thats not how you spell that citys name). Then my friend busted out his dinosaur impressions (dont ask). All in all, it was great.
Perhaps I will rent the cabin for later on in the year. I think that the jinx will have worn off by then.
So, thank you to all of you who came to my birthday and those who were there in spirit! It meant so much to me, and I had a great birthday. Love You!
