A Survey exercise of Firsts

May 26, 2008 19:20

It has been so long since I posted anything in this damn thing, that I thought I would start off kinda easy. Hopefully, this attempt will lead to more in the future.

Who was your FIRST prom date?
As a Sophomore, my boyfriend J.B. took me to his prom. We went as part of a large group of mutual friends and had a really great time. I wore my Aunt's old bridesmaids dress, attended the eventual suburban hotel room party, and it was all pretty PG-13.

Do you still talk to your FIRST love?
Absolutely not. Nor am I curious as to how he is faring.

What was your 1st alcoholic drink?
Captain and Coke. The Captain and I still hang out from time to time.

What was your FIRST job?
At the local Hampton dollar theater. I couldn't wait till I turned fifteen, so that I could get a work permit to work there. I thought it was so cool, and I had a few friends who worked there as well, and we would throw large parties in the theaters after hours.
I eventually discovered that I could attend these parties without actually working at the theater concession stand, so I quit to begin waitressing...but hung out till the theater closed when I was a Sophomore in college. I miss the Hampton, cornerstone of my youth.

What was your FIRST car?
A 1983 Cadillac Cimarron. It was a smaller, white, boxy version of the Cadillac that was a hand-me-down from my Grandmother when I turned 16. It was older than my little sister, had holes in the floors that had to be covered by boards, but I loved that car. I think that I still do, even though it has long ago been sent to purple heart. It died a heroes death, when I got into my first major accident on New Years Eve, broke my nose on the steering wheel, and it was still able to drive everyone to the hospital afterwards. This is despite the fact that it had been involved in a five car accident (not my fault, and not involving booze--but, snow). It was a brave car and I loved it.

Who was the FIRST person to text you today?
I don't text. Alpha-numeric keypads are for people who don't like to talk. I like to talk.
It does have its charms.

Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?
Thomas, who was kissing my face.

Who was your FIRST grade teacher?
Mrs. Patterson. The best teacher I ever had. She seriously rocked my young world.

Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane?
Washington D.C., when I was about five years old to visit my Aunt. My Uncle served in the military/ government, and I remember climbing a mountain and seeing lots of gardens.

Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk?
A boy who lived at the top of my street named Rick, and his younger sister. I think I was about seven or eight, when we ran amok in the neighborhood. I still see him from time to time around town, which is cool, but strange, because we are all grown up now.

Where was your FIRST sleep over?
Not until I was in High School, at my friend Dawns house. Those involved secret beer, and Ouija boards in the haunted basement.

Who was the FIRST person you talked to today?
Thomas. Gee, I think I am seeing a pattern here.

Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time?
The only time I have ever been close to being "in" a wedding is as the photographer, or as the assistant to the videographer. If I'm not working it, than I'm drinking at it, and generally rabble rousing. The last time I went to a dry wedding, I slipped a flask in on my garter belt.
I am definitely not Bridesmaid material, and my friends know it. Truthfully, I don't actually agree with the entire institution of marriage, and believe that if a wedding starts on time than everyone should take a moment to search their souls.

What was the FIRST thing you thought this morning?
Pizza and Honey Nut cheerios for "breakfast" at 6pm.
I am nocturnal, so my idea of morning is really morning in some other time zone, and generally afternoon for my location. I would call myself a night owl, but people have told me that doesn't even cover it and that I am another kind of owl altogether.

What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
The Monkey's Reunion tour, at Pine Knob when I was like, eleven. I loved the Monkeys, and used to get up at five AM to watch their television show. Which as big for me, if you have read the previous entry.

FIRST tattoo or piercings?
When I turned Thirteen, my family finally let me pierce my ears after I begged them for years. Their permission was given as a sign that I was now a "teenager" officially, and allowed to do such grown up things. I am pretty shocked when I see babies with pierced ears, because of my own upbringing. I eventually acquired three piercings in my earlobes, one in my ear's upper cartilage, and one in my tongue. The one in my tongue hurt the most, anyone who says that it doesn't hurt is either superhuman, or lying.

FIRST foreign country you went to?
My family went to Canada every year throughout my childhood to watch the 4th of July fireworks over the Detroit River.

FIRST movie you remember seeing in the theaters?
I didn't spend much time watching movies as a child. When an adult made the mistake of taking me to the theater, I spent more time in the lobby running laps to burn off steam than watching movies.

When was your FIRST detention?
I served my one and only detention in sixth grade. The punishment, which used boredom as a devious method of torture, was effective since it taught me to never get caught again, and I wasn't.

First state you lived in?
Michigan. Born and Raised.

Who was your FIRST roommate?
When I was in High School, my best friend got kicked out of his house and came to live with us.
He taught me the importance of rinsing dishes after you use them (at the very least), and I taught him to operate a washing machine. Early roommates are all about learning how to live with grown up responsibilities, and chores. After that, my freshman year in the dorm i lived with a girl named Adrea from Ohio. She was wholesome and blond, and part of a sorority. I was dark, nocturnal and brooding. We got along well, except she had her boyfriend stay over every night second semester. We slept in bunk beds, of which I was on top. This wouldn't have been too much of a big deal except, he snored really loudly. I would eventually hit him with my pillow repeatedly throughout the night, which was effective. Strangely, he never mentioned it in the morning and neither did I.

WHO WAS YOUR FIRST?
Could you be a little more specific? I require a straightforward question, otherwise I feel like I'm guessing the number of beans in the jar.
