Face down in the dirt she says, this doesn't hurt, she says

(Hm, that subject line had enough S's in it for me to realize that my S key makes funny snappy noises.  That's a strange development).

So the dorms still haven't turned the freaking heat on.  Last night was pretty darn cold, I can tell you.  I was so cold this morning I was seriously considering ditching my first class to stay in my warm bed.  Eventually (with about 20 minutes to go) I got up and started getting ready to go.  And, even though I didn't have the time to bother, I checked my email.  I'm an email whore, so sue me.  What do I find sitting in my inbox?  Why, a message from my 9:30am teacher, cancelling class on account of being sick.  XP  wtf.  This has only further impressed upon me the urgency with which we must seek the technology to download email straight into the brain.  I totally could've stayed in bed for another hour and a half.  :'(

Miscellaneous thought for the day:  I find it depressing that the large majority of people (say, 99%) will never be geniuses at anything.  They may be fair, they may even be exceptional, but truly it is rare to be a genius.  I'll never be the best at what I do.  I may never acheive recognition or make a difference.  I will probably never be famous and in all likelihood I'll be reduced to a name and perhaps a few pictures within three generations.  Whatever art I leave behind me on this earth may well be forgotten before I am.  Truly life is fleeting that we only find the time to remember the 1% of the world's heritage.
