Yesterday's mild adventure:
After Comp Sci I wandered! down toward King Soopers. Just for giggles. It was beautiful 80+ weather and a great day for walking about in shorts. I stopped in at the Finest store (I'd never been in there before) to check ou their selection of used media. Found some nice stuff, but not much that I was willing to put my dwindling reserves of money into. Except-- the soundtrack to Star Wars, A New Hope. Awesome. 2-disc set for $5.31 after tax. Plus, I've been looking for the Star Wars soundtracks, preferably older ones. The new releases are hideously priced an obnoxiously "editted". This is from the 1997 Special Edition release, and not so bad. The new Cantina Band gig is on a seperate track from the original so it's all good. If I had more money.... there are a few other items I'd like to pick up... Oh well. After that I headed down to King Soopers. On my way, I passed some guys getting out of their car... one of them randomly burst into rap. Something about a kangaroo... my Confusion was large and unwieldly. Bought more food than I needed from King Soopers, proceeded to eat a good deal of it after dinner back at the dorm. Seriously. I have problems. My affinity for food will be my downfall, mark my words. Later, I made a half-hearted attempt to amend for my gluttony by jogging... poorly. Then I walked from one corner of campus to the other, and then some. Kinda peculiar going off-campus after 11pm. Makes me glad that I'm not particularly pretty; that'd be more trouble than it's worth, I've no doubt.
Lately, I've gotten into the habit of downloading anime torrents. Yar matey, here there be pirates. Blame
brazen_heart. I've seen some awesome stuff though. The new season's looking promising. I seem to be following four shows right now. I also watched the first episode of "Disgaea" and was disappointed.
I'll be keeping track (for the next three weeks, anyhow) of "Kiba", which has great potential, but is kind of bringing itself down by fixating on mundane stuff like doors. And their being broken. And impatient, oft-violent kids. But it's introduced some very interesting elements, so I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
"Ouran High School Host Club" is highly HILARIOUS. It's fantastic and very strange in all the best ways. I dunno if I particularly like one of the main characters (uber-vain guy), but that doesn't take away from the humor and I like the main character a lot. =)
"Princess princess".... is SO strange. The premise is that a guy transfers into an all-boys school that has a peculiar... "custom" of making the prettier boys cross-dress. Um. Still, it's quite entertaining and the main character has some priceless expressions.
"The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" is possibly beyond compare. It's as random as Excel Saga and as crack'd as FLCL, but it sort of has a Fruits Basket charm to it. ... If that makes any sense. There are probably better examples, but I can't think of them at the moment. At any rate, I'm enjoying it muchly. I think my favorite character's the cat...

here and
here. I'll probably give "Nana" and "Utawarumono" a try too. Some time.
I was going to donate plasma this morning, but the weather's kinda... windy and a little chilly and I've got plenty of homework anyway... so I passed. there's still next weekend. Homework... right... better get to doing that... hm. >_
