Abby leaned back against the pillows, smiling. Then she frowned and bit her lip as she looked at thr crossword in front of her. The pencil was twiddled between finger and thumb, until finally she put the crossword down on the bed with a hmph.
"Connor!"
"Love?"
"Can you help me with this crossword? It's driving me absolutely nuts!"
"Yuo could come out 'ere an' we could watch a movie together...."
"Okay, after you help me with the crossword, I'll watch whatever scifi flick you want, okay?" Abby wa amused more than exasperated, to tell the truth.
The sound of Connor running from the other room filled their flat as her husband scrambled over his own feet to get to her.
At the door he paused and looked at Abby - his wife, who was currently 6 months pregnant with their twin babies - a smile and a look of pure joy and awe in his chocolatey-golden brown eyes.
"Conn."
"Right. You look beautiful, y'know?" She smiled and they kissed for a moment before he took a look at the puzzle.
"Oh, tha's easy."
"What's the answer then?"
"Silver." Abby glared at him for a moment, examined the puzzle, and groaned.
"Of course it is..."
"Don' worry, not as easy as I made it out ta be, yeah?"
The kiss was more passionate now, and both the crossword and the mmovie were temporarily forgotten.
