Kieran is walking! She said something this morning about going out today to find a job ...
She started toddling about last friday and has gotten pretty good at it over the weekend. That kid is growing up so fast! She's only 9 1/2 months old, and she's not at all interested in being a baby. Man, if I could still get people to carry me around, I'd totally act like I couldn't walk. It works for Stephen Hawking.
Gabriel is constantly reminding me that he's smarter than I am.
On Friday, he was performing one of his 'experiments' ... which means he was mixing random liquids he finds around the house to try and come up with something that will explode. He had mixed water, mouthwash, orange juice, cologne, rubbing alcohol, soy sauce, and room spray into some noxious-looking concoction (yes, he knows not to drink it). I reminded him that he needs to tell me what he's mixing in before he adds it just in case it could be something reactive, and that sometimes mixing normal stuff from around the household could be dangerous because some chemicals don't like each other and get mad when they're mixed together.
My six-year-old son gave me a deep sigh, and said, "Mom, if the chemicals knew what they were going to do when they were mixed together, it wouldn't be an EXPERIMENT ... it would just be a test. This is science, Mom, and I'm trying to make science explode ... that's not gonna happen unless I make the chemicals mad at each other ... that's why you gotta shake 'em."
I am SO lucky.
