And now...a new development in this issue of account raiding I'm undergoing. Seems I might really be undergoing an actual case of identity theft.
I received my W-2 in the mail a couple of days ago. Except that the year to date total is all wrong. Way too low. So...I got the number for the corporate lady who deals with such things.
W-2's go through her first. She just received an e-mail telling her that the W-2's will be arriving in her office shortly. Meaning I shouldn't have one. The next thing she asked is if it had an ink stamp particular to part of the company. It isn't there. So my W-2 is fraudulent.
*is shocked*
What possible benefit would there be to sending some one a fraudulent W-2? How do they benefit?
This does lend more credence to my missing direct deposit form being at issue. This fake has my social security number on it and my employee number.
This is bad. Very....very...bad.
I shall be spending my day doing things like faxing copies of this form to the corporate folks, and giving the police an update on the case they're investigating. Or not...since there are more important fish to fry...
