Momiji came down with the mumps a week ago, but he is doing much better now. I've been keeping him in isolation from the rest of the family and flushing him out with fluids and healthy foods (which he is unused to, as the amount of candy he normally eats is embarrassing). Every time I find a candy wrapper around his bed that he hasn't deftly hidden, he buries himself under the sheets and starts whimpering or pretending to be asleep. Momiji certainly has a lot of maturing to do, to know what is best for him. I wish he would just learn to trust me. We all suffer from this curse, we may as well bind ourselves together in our common misery.
Speaking of misery, there's no telling how much more suffering Akito would undergo if he were to catch the mumps. Luckily, Momiji's not feeling well enough yet to run about like he normally would.
