After reading the latest entry in blackkoda’s LJ, (linky=here) I felt my own reasons to bitch about “Underworld: Evolution” coming to surface.
Me thinks that the producers/creators/director of “Underworld” didn’t actually expect it to be a film successful enough to produce a sequel. So they killed everyone important in the first part and now they had to find idiotic ways to fill all those gaps. What buggered me personally, (apart from the absence of Kraven’s nude, pornish scenes) was that the legendary battle I was expecting (a fight between Viktor, leader of Vampires and Lucian, leader of Lycans, omg, given the background of those two it could be the highest point of drama and effects) never happened. So Lucian’s and Sonja’s sad, romantic story was hidden in the background, the reason this whole war started was only mentioned for the record, and every good prospect of an amazing plot was sacrificed to show more of Selene’s leather dressed ass.
In fact, I fear that the plot of the new movie will be altered so much that they will need to inform us about all the changes in the beginning, otherwise we’ll be “OMGWTF” during the entire movie. Maybe they can scroll all the facts Star-Wars- style. (In Gallaxy, far far away…)
I think that most people bitch about Selene… *stares at f-list* Well, I’ve joined the club. -__-
I’m also showing off my new icon! *points* Isn’t it pretty? ^^
Anyway, I will certainly see the movie, and then when the DVD comes out I’ll separate the interesting parts of the movie and stick to them.
