updatey things
okay. so the first day was today. i got to the district office, and they didn't know i was coming. turns out there was some massive miscommunication between my agency and the school district; they never knew i accepted the offer. oh man. freaking out.
then, they were very happy i was there anyway. i got introduced around, given a mac laptop, and brought to the school i'll be working at.
the other slp who had been working there is out for a medical emergency, fairly long term, so.... there was a tremendous back up of evaluations of children and IEPs to do. and, no kids have been seen for therapy since november. greeeeat.
so some other slps from other schools have been trying to cover for the one here, partially successfully. and thankfully, instead of making me run away screaming in tears, they will continue the evaluations and paperwork for those for this month while i start with the kids and therapy. and work me into the rest slowly. phew.
everyone there was VERY happy i was there, and super helpful. everyone said over and over, 'ask any questions you need. scream if you need help. ask questions more than once if you need.' so yay!
