Interest Icon Meme

Snagged from several people...

Leave a comment and I will pick three of your interests and three of your icons I would like you to explain. Post them in your journal and allow others to comment and request the same.

This was actually pretty fun, so if you have more interests or icons you would like me to expound on, feel free to add that to your comment.

sylvanfae asked me about:

Gackt: I only fairly recently discovered the hotness that is Gackt. He is a Japanese musician/rock star who is dead sexy. I love "pretty bois" and he's got the look mastered. He also has real talent, and a voice that makes me melt. Some of his stuff has a punk/goth feel, but others feel more alternative. I have a difficult time trying to put him in a category because he is really a category on his own.

Yoshitaka Amano:Yoshitaka Amano is an amazingly talented artist. I became a huge fan after obtaining a copy of Neil Gaiman's Sandman: The Dream Hunters, which was illustrated by Amano. It is required for me to also note that he does most of the character design for the Final Fantasy series.

Glamour: This is in reference to what some may call "faerie magic," although I believe in a different concept of it. It is not about fashion magazines and current trends... although someone who takes care of themselves may exude a certain kind of glamour. It is all about that magic sparkle that people seem to carry around them, presumably created by their appearance, panache, confidence, and charm. It is something that makes you want to be around that person.

Reflect - I chose this icon for several reasons. It is blue, my favorite color, and it emits a peaceful image. Its message is one I am constantly doing - thinking back on past times, analyzing them for future use. This isn't so much nostalgic thinking as philosophical and analytical thinking.

Desperation - This image personifies how I feel when I'm desperate. There is no escaping the situation, and it is precarious and somewhat painful.

Absynthe - In playing Ragnarok Online, I had a character named Absynthe (Yes, a bit of a green faerie, or at least as close to one as I could get in the limited character classes available). This icon was used to represent me when posting on the gaming forums. It also is a good standard stock icon for anime and fantasy/faerie usage.
