Cause I swear I got hit by one.
I'm feeling better today but the last couple of days were rough. It must be allergies creating that massive headache and fatigue. But maybe not because the sudafed didn't do shit.
Anyway. I don't really want to write about that. What I want to write about is the amazing thing that happened on Saturday. I had specifically blocked that day off in my calendar and I watched the weather forecast all week. It was going to be the perfect day. And it was. Pretty much. Except for the nearly 500 bucks I spent, but that was to be expected.
Of course, nothing would have happened, regardless of how perfect the day was, if Dave wasn't staying with us for a bit. Because I never would have been able to tackle the garage on my own. But with Dave there ready to work, Bob knew that it was going to happen, whether he wanted to do it or not. And when he heard the garage door opening early Saturday morning, Bob was out of bed fast as lightning. On that day, we cleared out almost half of the garage, installed shelving along most of one 16 foot long wall, broke down empty boxes, swept away the leaves and gecko shit, and pretty much filled the trashcan with anything that couldn't be recycled or donated. We put several ads for stuff on craigslist and there are a couple of things in my trunk for Goodwill.
We aren't done yet. Not even close. We haven't sold anything we put on craigslist yet and I still have a 6 foot section of shelving to buy and hang. But the difference we made in that one day is amazing and I'm ready to get back in there and work some more. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do that for a while due to the overbooked weekend coming up.
The only thing I regret is that I didn't take a before photo. I'll take one tonight, though, since the garage is still pretty full and the furniture we're trying to sell is still in there. And maybe once we're done and the garage is clean and organized, I'll hang that "before" photo on the wall as a reminder to never let it get that way again.
