I don't think it's ever easy unless you genuinely just don't give a damn about your pet. I had a cat named Daisy several years ago who I went as far as considering her a dear friend, she meant the world to me. I've never known a cat with such a human-like personality, who was so in tune and connected with my own personality. I think she seriously understood every emotion I expressed, from sadness to complete joy, always making eye contact when she communicated and talked to me. And she was my one and only crutch during my year of horrible depression when I lived in Orlando. We had to let her go a couple of years ago due to her suffering from congested heart failure. After realizing after her diagnoses that she was not going to survive, I went through some of the saddest days I think I'll ever experience. I still think about her and become not just sad, but truly depressed. I don't there could have been anything to have made her death easy, and I think any loving pet owner will always feel the same way when they say goodbye to their furry loved ones. But that's unfortunately what comes with caring for animals. It's the acceptance that their life will be shorter than yours, but just as unpredictable.
