My summer plans

May 19, 2008 22:47

My original plan was to work for Outward Bound when I turned twenty-one in August. However, the awesome people over at OB were able to find me a position that didn't require the twenty-one age prerequisite. This is pretty convenient, as I put in my two weeks notice at the Florida Center for Reading Research this past Tuesday.

I have only seven more work days left at the FCRR. I think I'm going to start work for OB on June 9, or thereabouts.

I'll be working at the Five Rivers base in Fairhope, Alabama, which is nearly a four hour drive from Tallahassee, and about twenty minutes from Mobile, AL. It's also about two and a half hours from New Orleans.

During the summer I will be working as the Logistics Coordinator for the Five Rivers base. I've heard this described as the "Go-to Guy" or the "Logistics Dude". I will basically be gathering and packing supplies and food so that the Wilderness Instructors can go out into the wilderness with the students.

I am very excited to be quitting the job that I hate and working at the job that (I hope) I'll love three months earlier than I originally anticipated.

work, obsessive use of links, summer plans, outward bound
