sometime early

it was in the morning
dawning hours
she remembers suddenly
a face from time past and forgotten
a man she pretended she knew.

what endevors this cool mindset
upon a brow did grow a frown
that laying silent so ponderously broken
would be her resting halted now.

why is it that the past reminds us
of such things long gone and dead,
a face once fondly looked on now
is remembered with uncertain dread.

regret not things that taught us lessons
what learned she that fateful day,
when something bred of a moments passion
brought about such bitter ends.

one never thought a single person
could upon her so aggrieve
startling notions of worthless endevors
that fall amid a mans starving greed.

lost was time unto a session
madness given to hope for passing,
what was done is not forgiven
and what she trusts is now forsaken.

upon these dawning hours dreary
i look upon a sleeping man.
she ponders past and puts behind her
that which stains a heart much torn.

----

all those behind me, faces remembered, she touches in mind and forgets not the lessons learned, times shared, the good, and the bad. We miss that which is worth missing. We thank for those things that have helped shape what moves us today. We forgive that which hurts. We move on to a brighter day.
