~(Translation: I want to see all of your pictures from Prom soon!)
~Truly at the moment, I have very little to write about, but unfortunately, I have the compelling urge to write on LiveJoural. I also have the compelling urge to do sit-ups or play DDR. High energy store, perhaps. It happens when you go somewhere that has a reception with tons of fruit, among other not-so-yummy cakes and deserts and things that make my head float like root beer foam from hell, and you eat many a fruity delectable. I think today was the first time I had ever eaten fresh raspberries and blackberries. They were delightful. I don't really see them at many receptions, unfortunately. Then again, I don't go to many receptions that are given in monster Mountain Brook estates with gardens and furnishings that make your eyes drool >.> . These people had a BIG house, fellows.
~It was some Vanderbilt mingle-party type event for newly accepted students. They had sent an e-mail out just yesterday with the basic message of, "Oh, yeah. We have this thing at this address in a house in Mountain Brook tomorrow. Right. Come, because it'll be fun and dandy and things. It'll be kewl. See you there!"
~My mother drove me, and bless her, she wasn't planning to stay for the two-ish hours, but ended up staying anyway because she told me she'd probably get lost trying to get back home if I didn't come with her. I thought it was amusing. Sure, even after not having been to Shane's house for over a year or more, she can find it without a single error. And then we go to this little place not very far off of Lakeshore Dr., and my poor mother says the map printed too badly for her to be able to make it out by, say, midnight (which it was. My stupid printer is screaming for ink).
~So I mingled, a little ungracefully for today, and ate fruit, and marveled at the beautiful house, and ate some more fruit, and marveled at their house, and ate some more fruit (I ate a lot of fruit. Ich liebe Obst. I love fruit, I love fruit. Funny, they didn't have any raw vegetables. I love vegetables.) Then we listened to the Vice Dean speak for a good while, and then we did a few last minutes of mingling (not really), and then I said, "Mother, dear. Quite frankly, I'm ready to go home. Let me grab two of these delectable Ferrero Rocher chocolates, take one of the Vanderbilt frisbees over there on the goody table (yes, they had Vanderbilt frisbees), and let's just go home, shall we?" And so we did.
~As a last note of the evening, I only got about half an hour to practice tonight, which grieved me. However!, it was a very satisfyingly efficient and productive half hour. I feel at least partially redeemed.
~I'd really love some plain lettuce to eat right now. Unfortunately, I think we used the last of the lettuce head for sandwiches earlier today. Darn.
