In looking back at a lot of my dreams, I seem to have a lot that revolve around the world ending. This morning's dream was no different.

The dream began with being invited to some party. I attended some other event right before this party. I didn't get out until around 10pm, but Denver and I decided to go to the party still anyway.

I remember looking at the time and seeing that it was 10:17pm. And for whatever reason, the sun was still out. I turned to the direction of the sun and it suddenly disappeared, just setted in a flash, and the world went dark. I thought it was a really weird occurance, but I ignored it.

We arrived at the party, which seemed to be held by one of my co-workers. Someone mentioned the strange occurance, and just as they did, the sun was out again. Then it disappeared again. And reappeared. The sun appeared to be really close, but looked more like the moon than the sun.

Some of us, including myself, were standing outside, staring at the sky. Suddenly, the earth teetered, much like when you are on a rocking boat. I held onto the house's patio post as the Earth shook violently. I looked to the sky again and was baffled to see...Earth. For a split second I pondered, "Are we no longer on the Earth?" but it must have somehow been the Earth's reflection (I have no idea what was making it reflect).

Then one of my co-workers pointed to the horizon and said, "Tidal wave!" I looked and saw a Tsunami coming towards us. I panicked. I knew there was no way we were going to survive this. I turned to the open door that led into the house and called for Denver. I reached my arm to him, but he was hesistant to come to me (was he scared?). Water starting rushing towards us, but not in huge waves as I thought. I started climbing onto the roof of the house, but splashes of water prevented me from continuing. I started losing my mind, knowing that I was about to die, that I was about to drown. My terror grew as my mind screamed, "I don't want to die! I don't want to die! This is it, I'm going to die! I'm going to drown, and it's going to be a slow, horrible death!"

Finally, Denver came to me when he saw what was going on. We held onto each other tightly as water rushed around us. I cried and told him that it wasn't fair that we were going to die, that we weren't going to have our future together. He told me it was okay, but I kept insisting how unfair it was.

And then I woke up.

I don't think I have ever died in a dream. I always seem to wake up right before I am going to. I am glad. I don't want to know what it would feel like to die...

dreams, denver
