Ooh, boy...
So, some interesting things happened. Starting with probably the most worrisome is my Psychogeography class. The course is only four weeks long, and I recently got my progress report. Apparently, I'm failing so far. On the days I was sick, I missed a big day trip to Santa Fe and a critique! I missed monday and tuesday, and showed up Wednesday for the full class. That night, I got a surprise call from my parents that I had a dentist's appointment on thursday at 2PM.
My dentist is in Los Alamos.
God, I hate driving that far! The drive to Los Alamos is scenic, but I hate the actual town. So... I had to duck out of class early and miss a Pueblo indian dance. Needless to say, my profess was not impressed. I begged mercy and sped north, taking the normally 45 minute drive and minimized it down to 25 minutes. It would be impressive how fast I got there, if only I hadn't left at 12:45. I could still get there, I could still get there...
The Santa Fe bypass route is under construction.
...oh fuck...
So it takes me longer to get through Santa Fe than it takes to actually get there! D'oh! I still managed to get up the hill and be only 20 minutes late! Unfortunately, being a dentist, they don't wait for you. Damn!
Using some combination of pity and charm, I convinced the receptionist to reschedule me for the next morning. So I drove home and stayed the night in Chimayo, much to the delight of my family, and went back the next day.

One of Cheetah's friends from CNM was interested in Arkham Horror. I randomly mentioned it once while we were at one of work party-thingies, and he seemed interested. It surprises me how popular H.P. Lovecraft is! I was really looking forward to picking up a copy of the newly-released expansions to the game. In fact, I was going to go pick it up right after work (since this was a pay week). Suddenly, close to 5:00, I get a text message from Jeremy.
"U left Arkham stuff"
...
Wait, WHAT!?!? How!?
I call him up and he tells me his sister found a Borders bag full of monster tiles. Oh, how could I have missed THAT!!? I thought about it... well, it IS just a standard shopping bag. It probably just blended in with some random bit of clutter and I didn't see it. Aaargh, we can't play Arkham without monsters! I couldn't stop kicking myself for that!
Anyways... I still wanted my expansion, even if it was just to look at! So I kidnapped the Cheetah, we went for a leisurely drive that just happened to wind up at Active Imagination, and picked up someone else's formerly reserved copy of the Innsmouth expansion! Later that night, we set up a little game with Todd and John. John played as the violinist (who is ohmygod-BROKEN), and we actually won quite handily. How strange... but then, we weren't really playing a "full" game.

Wargh! Luckily, this weekend was AlbuFURque. Both Cheetah and I had been looking forward to it all month. This year, it started at 4PM, a bit later than usual. I would probably complain about less time to hang out, but it actually worked in our favor. We had enough time to run to Cheetah's place and whip up some open-faced sandwiches. Since I am fail at all things culinary, I kind of just dozed off for awhile...

Anyways... Albufurque was alright. There were some 50 people in attendance this year! I think it's become a veritable miniature furry convention! Unfortunately, with so many people, it became a bit difficult to move around the house. Maybe next year they can hold it in Scritch's place, or something. In any case, there was much fun and debauchery to be had. We watched Cat's Don't Dance, an old movie I hadn't seen in forever. Heheh, Max the valet is so awesome!
As the night progressed, we had dinner, Otto randomly showed up, and videogames were commenced. We messed around on Tobias's modded Wii, playing this crazy imported game called Muscle March. Later, we moved to Smash Bros. It was pretty cool, but I got kind of cranky by the end and started picking on Tobias, something which I feel really, really bad about. I hope I didn't scare him off. I think he's from far away, and I'd hate to be a misrepresentation of NM Furries...

Sunday was pretty chill. I just hung out and called my Dad to wish him a good one. Monday, I decided to start making up some of the things I had missed in class. My original plan was to go watch one of the other native dances, but it wasn't going on that day. So instead, me and Cheetah whipped up a trip to Santa Fe via RailRunner. Color me impressed! The train is pretty comfortable, and there's wifi available. I was thinking of bringing some art, but figured it would be cumbersome to drag a masonite panel around town. Argh, I should have brought it! The train was spacious, and probably steady enough to draw or paint in. It was a pretty nice trip, except for the random armored truck that attacked the train.
Or something like that. I don't know.
An armored vehicle lost control on the highway and wrecked on the tracks.

It held us up for a good 45 minutes, but we got two free train tickets out of it.
