A couple of finished objects

This is a hood I made to wear with my winter coat. It has no hood of its own. (My mom bought it for me a few years ago, when I still lived in California full-time.) I've sinced moved to Chicago, realized I needed headgear, decided that hoods did the best job of keeping my ears warm, and realized that there were just some days where it wasn't quite cold enough to layer a hooded sweater and a coat. (At least, not comfortably.)

The pattern is sort of adapted from one in Elsebeth Lavold's "Viking Patterns for Knitting". Her version is made in some chunky weight yarn, and has no cables. I added the cables, and made it in worsted-weight yarn from Handpaintedyarn.com.
The starts to the cables are from the same book. The open bulls'-eye pattern I sort of winged-I think I've seen it somewhere before, but I can't recall where.

This is a teddy bear I made a few months ago for my cousin. I just never got around to posting pictures until now.

Also, it's far from my best work-it's about half seams, and I hate seams.

The pattern is from "The Knitted Teddy Bear." The bear is done in some sportweight Schachenmayr yarn which is 100% wool. The dress is Zara merino-a bit expensive for a stuffed animal, but it was the first pink I could find.
