Boy this show gets less exciting every year. MTV nominates some awesome people but do they win? No the most overrated people do instead (yeah I am still a little bitter about last year's- some awesome people lost out imo) :/
But it's a music awards show and I can't ignore that. Here are the nominees and who I think will walk away with an award and who will indeed get cheated:
BEST GROUP:
1- Fall Out Boy- Well duh. When aren't they nominated for something? Panic! I so prefer over them.
2- Gym Class Heroes- Eh. They are the ones who I'm sure will stay in their seats the entire night despite a number of nominations. They certainly will not win against Fall Out Boy and Linkin Park in this category.
3- Linkin Park- They have a boring new album out imo, but it has a really popular single now off of it. They may win.
4- Maroon 5- I think their newest album is one of the best of this years and definitely a lot more memorable than Linkin Park's or Fall Out Boy's. I cannot be sure they will win but they have two winning singles to help them out.
5- The White Stripes- They would definitely be the dark horse of the night if they won. They have a strong following but I don't think they will win against the more exposed bands of the top 40.
My Guess: I think Fall Out Boy and Maroon 5 are the two likely to win over everyone else. I hope Maroon 5 wins since I think Fall Out Boy are painfully overrated.

BEST NEW ARTIST:
1- Lily Allen- Not only is her music boring but her personality is lousy in real life. I will never forgive her for her James Blunt comment especially. But anyway she may have a chance since she has gained a good sizeable following but compared to the rest of the competition I think she will most likely stay in her seat.
2- Gym Class Heroes- They will stay in their seat for this one as well.
3- Pete Bjorn and John- I hardly know a thing about these people which is never a good thing when it comes to MTV. They should just be thankful for the nom because they'll for sure stay in their seats.
4- Carrie Underwood- Carrie bores me but I have never been big into anyone country really. But many people love this woman. She will beat Lily for sure out of the water.
5- Amy Winehouse- This is where Carrie will meet competition. Although I find nothing interesting about her despite how horrid she has grown looks- wise these days, she has a lot of love for her music.
My Guess: Amy or Carrie. Carrie may not win because well she has just been terribly overexposed for so long. Amy is new and fresh and a total trainwreck. So I say Amy has a good chance. I could care less who wins though.

FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR:
1- Beyonce- Ho- hum. Of course she gets a nom. I think every single of hers was incredibly boring although certainly not forgettable since well they played one of her songs every hour on the radio for the longest time. She may win, wouldn't be surprised if she did.
2- Fergie- I can see her winning this nonetheless. Fergie's album was a huge disappointment to me but her singles were well chosen I guess since they all did surprisingly well. MTV fans favor her more I get the feeling than Beyonce.
3- Nelly Furtado- It's a gamble. I do like Nelly though and her singles were well- chosen off her new album. But she really doesn't stand a chance I feel against Fergie.
4- Rihanna- Then there was Umbrella. The single still being played every day, every hour even. Not a bad single, but if Rihanna wins this award just cause of one hot single then that's sad. At least the other three noms prove they're more than one popular single. Rihanna still proves she only has good album sales due to one or two strong singles off a rather dull rest of the album. She might win though of course- probably will.
5- Amy Winehouse- Hm. Hard to tell. I think Fergie and Rihanna will beat her out on this one though. They're just more exposed.
My Guess- I can Fergie or Rihanna winning this one. Amy might be the dark horse and win this one but I doubt it. Nelly deserves it the most though imo.

MALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR:
1- Akon- Yeah the guy who dry- humped women on stage and also threw a male member off stage is really going to win. I doubt it. Akon has gotten nothing but bad publicity lately, for he to win would be hilarious and not likely anyway. Compared to the other noms he will be crushed.
2- Robin Thicke- Robin is the dark horse of this category. His voice I really do not like but I rather he win than a few others on here. He won't though.
3- TI- This rapper has a good chance of winning since his newest album got a large number of album sales. He bores the crap out of me though so I hope not.
4- Justin Timberlake- I could say Justin has this one pretty much in the sack. He's just too popular. Very overrated and those are the people who win 99% of the time.
5- Kayne West- Haha yeah right. I highly doubt it. Then later on he will complain that he didn't.
My Guess: It will come down to TI and Timberlake. I really don't know which will and don't care.

MONSTER SINGLE OF THE YEAR:
1- Daughtry "Home"- Definitely one of the more enjoyable smash hits of this year. We heard it on Americal Idol every time a reject went home and definitely is more likeable than his first single. If he won I wouldn't care and he may.
2- Fall Out Boy "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs"- Definitely a boring single but of course was popular on MTV. Their first single was actually pretty cool but this one...blah. Fall Out Boy could win anything so it's possible they may take this award home too.
3- Avril Lavigne "Girlfriend"- Of course this one would be on the list and probably will be the winner of this category. Yipee. Not.
4- Lil Mama "Lipgloss"- I'll be honest I have only heard this song 1 and a half times maybe. Hated it but really doubt it will win anything anyway.
5- Mims "This Is Why I'm Hot"- No way will this song win against the bigger hits this year.
6- Plain White T's "Hey There Delilah"- Hm...I don't know. I do like this song but I don't think it has been popular enough. It's the song many will support but not enough to beat out the other noms.
7- Rihanna's "Umbrella"- The sure winner. People might think that since she is the sure thing she may not win since sometimes that does happen but I doubt it. She has the best chance of winning.
Tbh the other three are rap songs that I could care less about. They won't win. T- Pain, Shop Boyz, and Timbland's songs have no chance of winning compared to Rihanna and Lavigne and Daughtry.
My Guess: Rihanna. Avril/ Fall Out Boy may win but I get the feeling it'll be Rihanna. Hey There Delilah and Home though I would prefer.

BEST COLLABORATION:
1- Akon + Eminem "Smack That"- Don't see this winning.
2- Beyonce + Shakira "Beautiful Liar"- Very possible this could win. It was insanely popular even though I found it very annoying.
3- Gwen Stefani + Akon "Sweet Escape"- This song is actually quite likeable. It really sounds like it came from some 90s Pepsi commercial which made it incredibly cute. It has a good chance of winning.
4- JT + Timbaland "Sexyback"- This song might have a chance...but it probably won't happen.
5- U2 + Green Day "Saints Are Coming"- Should win but won't. That's MTV for you.
My Guess: Beautiful Liar just feels like the winner. Gwen and JT may have a chance as well.
----------------
VIDEO OF THE YEAR:
1- Beyonce's "Irreplaceable"- Doubt it will win.
2- Justice's "DANCE"- Um...no. Not a chance.
3- Rihanna's "Umbrella"- Definitely will win.
4- JT's "What Goes Around"- I just don't see it happening. But Justin's popularity can be astounding sometimes.
5- Kayne West's "Stronger"- Nah. Won't happen.
6- Amy Winehouse's "Rehab"- I think Rihanna's is just too popular even for Amy.
My Guess- Rihanna.
-----------------
BEST DIRECTOR: (For they deserve love too)
1- Xtina's "Candyman"- I have to admit this song is not only likeable but the video is incredibly fun. If it won I would actually agree to it.
2- Beyonce + Shakira's "Beautiful Liar"- Probably will win. Meh.
3- Kayne West's "Stronger"- Are they serious?
4- Linkn Park's "What I've Done"- Meh. They've done a lot more exciting videos than this one.
5- Rihanna's "Umbrella"- It is a beautifully done video actually.
6- JT's "What Goes Around..."- Although I never liked the song nor ScarJo I must admit the video is gorgeous.
My Guess: ...I'm not sure. Besides West's they all have been popular enough to have a chance at it. My guess will go to though to either Beautiful Liar just cause women throwing about their hips throughout an entire video is just what MTV is all about. Umbrella or Candyman deserve it more though.
There's also a few other nom lists but I really have no opinion of who wins those. I usually am good at guessing the winners so we'll see if I get a high score this year! :P
Btw...how is everyone? I haven't heard from some of you in forever. :/ I don't need drawn out answers just a simple hi once in awhile is all I ask- to make sure you guys aren't trapped in another dimension or something lol ;P
