Thought I'd let folks know that I finally got an answer regarding my previous post on the availability of rooms in downtown hilton brand hotels; these hotels had simply not opened their blocks yet.
The Hampton Inn & Suites has opened its rooms. When I checked about 30 minutes ago, they looked to have full availability for all types of rooms. They are running a $211/night special if you're willing to pay now. Otherwise prices are $229 and up depending on the room you want. They are also offering double points on rooms for HHonors folks, and rooms can be purchased with points.
The Doubletree and Hilton Garden Inn still appear to be closed. We were told by a rep that the Doubletree will open it's D*C overflow block on the 15th, but I'd advise double-checking that, given the Doubletree's recent failures.
