Ideally, as soon as the line opens, you should try to get in it. My shortest pick up years where when I went as soon as I could.

My longest wait ever has been two hours and ten minutes, which was last year.

It honestly can be a complete toss up on registration or pre-reg being faster, but pre-reg will be cheaper.

I got the pre-reg. So I think I am going to be there as soon as possible

Last year they implemented a new system for those who were preregistered with post cards. I got there Friday morning around 10 am and I registered in less than 5 minutes - there was no line at all.

I got the post card in the mail yesterday. The last three years though, I volunteered and did not have to wait in line for my badge.

We usually go Thursday evening (after we arrive and get luggage into the hotel room), and it would've taken us 20 minutes to get through the line if they hadn't had to restart the computer or something (some glitch)...as it was, it took about an hour. But everyone else I know who missed the glitch got through in 10-20 minutes *_*

I got my badge, door to door, in 6 minutes on Thursday. They'd figured out the kinks for us members of the after-dinner crowd!

1 hour is not so bad. I am also not surprised that they would have a glitch since this is such a new system.

We arrived early, so we got on the line before reg started. But once it was officially open, the wait time was the how long it took to run around the block and actually into the hall where the registration computers were. So about 20 min? It was really great. We've stood 2-4 hrs in previous years, before the new system.
