Heya. The official program gets released about a week or two before the con. In it, there will be info about what stars will be where and when. And I know a couple of girls that will have the BSG dudes chipped, tagged, and tracked with a freaking GPS in between. ;p

Personally, I'd strongly advise going for at least two days- Saturday and Sunday- versus one. Don't even worry about going alone. If you are a BSG fan you are absolutely fine. The BSG folks are some of the most friendly, extroverted people at the Con. Walk up to anyone in a flight suit and start talking- you'll be invited to all the events and parties before you can say frak. There are already at least 3 BSG parties schedules.

Yeah, and the BSG fans are probably the craziest partiers at the entire con. A lot of the parties are hush-hush on location and time (the reached maximum capacity last year and so they are trying to be a little more careful), but if you are interested, PM me and I can give ya info.

My first year at DC I went alone and had a blast. DC is the place to find new friends and you will be surprised how many may be in your area. When I went, I found a bunch of new friends and a husband to boot! And I know a couple of single guys that are huge BSG fans and they are going to be at the panels as well. So you will never be alone!

Having a coNpanion is cool, but there is SOOO much to do and see at D*C that you'll probably still have a great time by yourself. I'm pretty sure the guests are there all 4 days, but if you absolutely had to choose ONE day, it's always safe to go with Saturday.

i went by myself and had a great time.

the program should be posted a few days before the 'con, so you can get an idea what's going on each day. but i second the idea of going saturday.

i'm one of those socially awkward people so the idea of going by myself is a little scary haha. I guess it's a good time to get over that then.

Thanks! I'll definitely go Saturday and hopefully Sunday.

There is no better place to get over social awkwardness than DC. If you are really worried, go to www.colonialfleet.org (a really cool, laidback BSG fangroup) and sign up next time they open registration. Introduce yourself and you will be mobbed by friendly people who will be more than happy to meet your acquaintance at D*Con and show your the ropes.

Has someone been slipping you cubits under the table to recruit this girl?

Hey, this guy's got a good point!

I roomshare with friends but fannishly, we don't have much in common, so I end up doing most of the "con stuff" on my own. It's terrific fun regardless.

Yeah, me too. I go with a group of friends but end up doing most things alone. One good thing about going alone is that you can do whatever you want and don't have to coordinate schedules with anyone else.
