Work
I agreed to do a display for work. This is my attempt to seem involved so that maybe they will give me a full-time job. I kinda floundered around looking for ideas and then settled on doing a display about short stories. I figured, hey, if people are in the library during the summer it is prolly because they're in school. And if they're in school then they don't have time to read for reals books. Hence the short stories.
But before I had decided to go with short stories I had briefly considered doing a display on Franz Kafka since he was born in July.
I mentioned my initial idea to my boss and before I could even follow my thought with my short story idea she cut me off, "Oooo! Kafka!" So now I'm doing a Kafka display.
I reckon I have to read through some databases at work tomorrow and figure out what to write. I suppose I could just put some books in there and call it a day since really, does anyone read the stuff in the displays anyway, but I think that would leave a bad impression and I need a full time job.
