I defy your social whatchacallits and substitute my own. Apparently.

A little anecdote from the convention that I hadn't got around to posting yet.

The scene: a hotel corridor, full of geeks. I'm doing the Touhou thing. This gal here to be precise. Just wandering along, heading to the dealer's room, la la la. Someone collars me for an oh-I-like-your-costume chat, as happens. We get to talking: oh, you haven't played the games, there's an English patch available, you should try such and such, yes I love the music too, general con chatter...

And then the bombshell. "You know, it's really cool to see how many boys have been trying girl costumes here, usually it's the other way around, it's really brave..."

Blink.
Blink.

Penny drops.

"Um... you know..."

And I crack the hell up.

Poor person was so embarrassed, but I was pretty damn amused overall, so yeah... and this was in a dress. Okay, a lot of lads do do the Touhou thing by comparison to some fandoms, but damn! XD Take out the immediate identifiers and that happens? Was it the low-ish voice? Do I just give off blokely vibes?
People mix things up on the internet, and I like it that way, they can make whatever they like of me. And I've been referred to as a guy when in sloppy camouflage pants in the past.
...I just never expected it when I was in a skirt.

I wonder if any folks around the masquerade hall were fooled by Terra for any length of time. (Hope so. ;))
