APPEARANCE: Q appears as a rather tall young man with the most curious deeply colored eyes. Some say they seem red but perhaps this could be but a trick of the light. He’s been touted as a rather beautiful man, slender with a warm smile on his features. Perhaps his more striking feature would be his hair: platinum blond (naturally) and dyed at the end with salmon pink. When asked about it, he merely states that it was a purely aesthetic choice. Not surprising considering his penchant for gold hoop earrings. Perhaps his taste in fashion stems from a suppressed rebellious streak. However, he dresses well enough: suits for class and occasionally a button down shirt or a long sleeved shirt with slacks when he’s done with work for the day. On a more casual day, one will find him in jeans and a hoodie.
PERSONALITY:
A quiet man, Kyu hardly draws attention to himself unless he deems it absolutely necessary or if he holds a particular interest to that person. Mostly he can be seen sitting and staring. If he was asked, it was people watching he was doing and nothing more. He holds a rather keen interest in humanity but this hobby of his gives him a seemingly aloof manner. On the surface, he seems aloof and difficult to talk to but despite the fact that at times this is true, a simple interaction will change your mind. He meets everyone with a smile and is encouraging to those he has taken a special interest to. Social interaction, as he has observed, is integral in maintaining a positive reputation and he does what most people would deem as sociably acceptable.
But despite his study, Kyu admits that he doesn’t truly understand humans and human emotions. His lack of socializing in his earlier years left him a bit lacking in the social department. Despite the pleasantries he gives off, he can come off as brash, even tactless at times. Kyuubey is never one to sugarcoat his words, choosing instead to be direct and straightforward without even a care for the feelings of others. But his direct approach leaves him with something more: an inability to lie. He is honest, equally painfully so and he will let his opinions be known as well as things most people would spill white lies to hide.
His research had twisted him into a creature with two faces. It was bitterness born from seeing the illness of humanity and the ignorance of the oncoming threat. He sees the need for masks, mostly to attain his goals of countering entropy. On the surface, he appears as described above: perfectly pleasant, a smart and charming individual but once one moves deeper, one can see the person within is hardly anything but this. Kyuubey is a silent manipulator, a man who will do most anything to attain his goals and perhaps one with a god-complex. He believes himself the savior of humanity, a person of superior intellect. Of course, this involves keeping certain things from people, only bringing them up when asked. Apart from his intellect, Kyu had worked hard at his appearance and knows that there is no one on the planet who would turn down a pretty face when the right buttons were pushed and the right words said. All for the answer to combat entropy.
Mad? Perhaps. Driven? Certainly. But "mad" wouldn't be a word Kyuubey would use to describe himself. He's simply a man with a goal you simply wouldn't understand.
COMPUTER APTITUDE: Pretty high.
AU HISTORY:
Quentin was born the son of two rather respected scientists: one was a computer engineer, the other a physicist. Naturally, in this environment, education was of the utmost importance. His parents took great interest in the sciences and even as a child, he himself had harbored the same interest. As he grew, he buried himself in books: fiction, non fiction, scientific journals, classics, tawdry Harlequin romances, no book in the house went untouched. Q had a personal agenda: knowledge. This went without a hitch. His grades were at the top of his batch consistently throughout school. However, his great interest in learning left him alienated from children his age. However, this fact never bothered him for in this, he found something else to study.
Humanity.
Humanity indeed was fascinating with its eccentricities, its rituale romanum, its quirks and norms. How humans interacted with each other and how they regarded themselves as the superior race fascinated Q. But of course, he knew better. It was also in the extensive study he'd done over the years where he discovered entropy and energy depletion in the universe. He believed humanity held the secret to defeating it. However, most didn't seem to know or care about this. Naturally, Q considered himself to be the only one in its way. To save the humans he was so fascinated by, he had to step up to the plate. Of course, this was also a question of survival. To save himself, humanity as well had to be saved.
So Q returned to his studies, focusing on them even more perhaps to the point of obsession in order to find an answer to his question. His academic record as well as his genealogy paved a way for a college education and he graduated with a degree in physics, like his father before him. Kyu would go on tofinis his doctorate and though others had thought him as a sure successor to his father's work in the field or perhaps even applying for a position at NASA, he surprised them all by saying that he was to apply at Reims to teach Physics. A difficult subject with somewhat an equally difficult professor to deal with, most would perhaps consider signing up for Professor Backenstose's class just to gawk at the rather attractive instructor. This all works out for Q, however, seeing that his theory states that the answer to entropy lies in the youth.
Perhaps even more specifically... young female humans.
JUSTIFICATION:
Kyu is more than qualified to be a teacher. His background gives him the educational capability to do so and perhaps one can say his god-complex justifies his leadership abilities to do so. However, it is also this god-complex that perhaps makes him a rather strict business-is-business-in-the-classroom teacher. Education's his arena, after all.
