T Minus 10...

Fortune has smiled upon me in the past few weeks. I’ve been pretty busy and not able to update, but I’ll hit the high points. Expect a bit of scattered-ness, today was the first day I got to slow down.

I passed my National Certification for Massage Therapy test (last post). I sent in the paperwork for the Illinois license on Monday. Just a few weeks now…

I’ll be working at a few psychic fairs in the SW burbs doing Chair massage, at a few bookstores I frequent. I’ll be bringing in more $ there in a day then I will working at a spa/solon so I’m not turning that down. Still looking for a location out this a-ways, but I want my main force of established clients closer to the city. I’ll be moving back to the SW burbs as soon as I can afford to do so.

I got 2 filming jobs back to back. This REALLY bailed me out. Not a lot of $, but enough to beat back debt for a month. Just the amount of time I needed to finish the licensing. Thank you Invisible All Powerful Guy up there. Now, to survive the next few months…

License paperwork; Sent
Massage Chair: Ordered
Face covers for headrest: Ordered
Business Cards: Ordered

Fun side story:
While at one of the psychic fair bookstores, I noticed my Reiki Instructor wearing a wrist brace. I had found that she works in a printing shop and she had repetitive stress pain from all of the Diplomas she has been printing up for the season. I told her, “Ya know, I’m trained to work with problems like that.” And she took off the brace and let me go to work.
After 10 minutes I asked her to move her hand around and she did so with a look of complete shock on her face. “There’s no pain. No pain at all. What did you do?” I responded,
“Well first off the usual massage work of your flexors and extensors of your forearm, but I threw a little Shiatsu in there hitting acupressure points with the hand that was supporting your arm as I was massaging with the other. That and throwing a little Reiki and other energy stuff in there for good measure.”
She grabbed my face and gave me a kiss before running off to tell the store owners and calling her roommate to let her know that for the first time in 3 days she was completely without pain without any Tylenol or other drugs.
I do things like this all the time, but I thought this instance was kind of cool seeing as my “Healing” teacher had such an astounded reaction.

P.S. ladystrange5150, give me a call again. I've been so busy studying and filming that my phone deleted the saved message with your new phone number on it. I haven't even started officially working and I'm getting booked a week ahead of time. Must set date.
