Really, people? We need to see pictures of bin Laden's bullet-riddled corpse?
No, no we don't. There's no freaking reason for it. Is my expert analysis of the photo going to bring some kind of amazing insight? Is the picture going to bring any of thousands of dead people back to life?
It's not proof. The fake picture that's already made the rounds on the internets could tell you that. Or the fact that our President has been repeatedly dogged to release multiple personal records from his own life -- and every single release has been "analyzed" by internet "experts" as being "a fake". There is no goddamn thing Obama could release that would prove bin Laden's death to anyone who doubts it. There's always "pixels that look funny". There's always "his nose is different, it's somebody else". There's always "it was taken eight years ago". People still refuse to believe the Moon landings, the spherical world, and Elvis's death, for fuck's sake. Jesus himself could come down from the heavens, knock on every door in the US, and say "Osama bin Laden is dead", and people would still refuse to believe.
The government is not great at keeping secrets, especially something big like this. Hell, before the President had even gotten to the podium the entire Internet had known what the speech was about for over half an hour. Even pictures of the top-secret stealth helicopters nobody's seen before have been all over the place. This was a complex undertaking by Navy SEALs, with many meetings by high-up military staff. If bin Ladin were alive, the truth would come out, and that would be the biggest PR shitstorm in recent political history.
I didn't need to see Saddam Hussein's photo to believe we captured him. I did not need to watch his hanging to know that he had been executed. I don't need to see bin Laden's photo either.
