A peek at what "dragon chibis" may come to be in the near future...
insanely thin, dragon people, apparently. That seems to be my thing, either really skinny or
really chubby. I'm hoping in the near future though, I shall over come my lack of character design ability to just finish a bunch of nice looking character illustrations. Even if they do all look the same, these are all sort of being done in an attempt to prove to myself, "see, you can draw more than just odd looking chibis."
Anyhoo, I'm also sort of tired of ripping off the Japanese, everytime I do it I feel sort of guilty and it never turns out so well. So for the moment I'll be dabbling more in anthro and China inspired art. I'll have to be honest, while I was originally inspired by anime to take cartoon drawing a bit more serious, as of late, whenever I did draw anime styled stuff it was more because I was hoping to stay with the "in" crowd. And I've avoided too becoming too "anthro" for fear of being labeled a furry. And yeah, with the stigma of furries and everything.
But you know what? Why keep drawing something I stink at when I can do something I can actually enjoy and draw prettily? I mean, I've always loved drawing half-animal people. I've been loving it since before it was uncool. So yes, that's what Lorina is here for.
I'm thinking about creating a story about some dragons that run an Asian restaurant. Whether Lorina is a hostess or a waitress has yet to be determined. She might even be the owner, we'll have to see.
