Weekend Update

Jun 27, 2006 10:23

We had an excellent turnout at the Serenity benefit screening, 269 people (which rocks given the short short notice we were able to give people and news outlets, I think we had a total of 10 days of promotion because we got started so late). Pictures (unedited, unlabeled, huge) are here. Current raised totals are here.
EDIT: Gallery here.

We opened with Joss Whedon's speech on the big screen, and closed with the Mosquito parody on the big screen, and some giveaways. Much fun was had.

Saturday we looked at a promising house in Glendale Heights (has a few issues, but still our current front-runner), then headed up to the Safe-House for dinner with the Browncoats and partying with the Rennies. It's always good to see Traveller, and Kendall was dancing and showing off her new tattoo. I got to show off the SafeHouse to kittykatkatja, and have fun harassing the folks who thought they might join us in the loft. (This time we made them sing for entrance). Kendall managed to seduce one gal who was travelling around the country selling cigars... when we left around 1am, the gal's coworkers had left her in our hands. I wonder if Kendall took her home? ;)

Sunday was a lazy rainy day, and Monday was another house to see - this one more amusing than most because there were cops showing up as I arrived. Apparently they are going through an eviction process. Fortunately for us we didn't like the place anyway, it's a bit tight, and the downstairs is WAY too "obviously home-remodeled" for our tastes. Ah well, the search continues...
