We Are Surprised Fu

Ignatius managed to surprise me yesterday. I had to take him to the vet one more time for yet another blood glucose test. Our new strategy is to leave the carrier in the house so he gets used to it--and as previously noted, we've found him napping in there. Either he's become a much less anxious kitty or he has become resigned to these frequent trips to the vet. HE DIDN'T RESIST GETTING PUT INTO THE CARRIER! Well, not much. He tried to stick his head up so I couldn't push him in, but he didn't flail, he didn't dig in. All that happened was one major yowl of unhappiness when I closed the door and moved out of his line of sight to put on my shoes.

(AElf' dashed upstairs in response.)

He was quiet all the way to the vet's office, yowled once at the receptionist, and he even ventured out of the carrier when I opened it in the waiting room. Brave boy! He went back in when he examined the small horde of squealing children across the room. He didn't struggle when his blood sample got taken, and he was quiet all the way home.

What a good boy!

Playing With Patterns

I made a couple of jpeg mockups of the tiles that ealdthryth and I liked, just to see how arranging them in parallel to the walls versus diagonally would look. I have to admit that both look attractive. The diamond pattern looks more interesting, but of course, it requires a LOT more custom cutting and fitting. Then we have to consider the baseboards. Currently, they are plain white with a small ogee at the top. We could get transitional tile to replace the baseboards, but the color of the tile versus the sage green of the wall would cause me a low-contrast coloration headache.

To get the idea, take primary blue and put primary red lettering on top of it. Stare at the combination for a few moments, and the letters will start to "jitter" and produce ghost images.

At any rate, it is Another Option To Consider. I've got to play with some of the other ideas we got while cruising around the home improvement stores.

Break!

The temperature will actually be moderately uncomfortable today! Hurrah! If it doesn't chuck down raining, I may be able to accomplish some outdoor chores after I'm done with the weekly grocery chore. The reason this is good news is because today's unofficial weigh in has me darn close to another threshold, and some outdoor activity will push me past it....

DCBYankee

Camaro Schmuck has probably heard the grumbling about his utter inability to stay between the lines and has hoped to fool us by driving a different vehicle to work today. Except, this one adds more clues to why he feels he is entitled to park his redneck Ferrari with complete disregard and respect for other drivers. His vehicle has a tag proudly bearing the logo of his alma mater that clearly identifies him as Not From The South. This explains much about his failure to abide by the rules and norms of Polite Society. [It is a JOKE folks.]

I think the only reason he didn't drive the redneck Ferrari today is because he is afraid it might get rained on. Considering where he is from, I can empathize with this fear since it is the same place Pennsic gets its acid rain from--the type of rain that can de-blue your armor and cause it to rust within an hour.
