There I was, comfortably seated on the couch with a happy purring kitty on my lap. At some point, she decided that she wanted down, and used her sharp pointy claws to get traction as she launched herself across the room.
OW!
ealdthryth gave my leg the once over and decided I was being a big baby. At least until the blood started welling up through the long thin lacerations a minute or so later--at which point she grudgingly agreed I was allowed a minor bit of whinging. Even this morning, the shower water left a bit of a sting....
OK, so it wasn't like those old Kung Fu movies where the ninja slices someone up and 30 seconds later all the pieces fall to the floor, but, still: OW!

Decluttering
As may have been obvious from the lack of posting about this subject, our decluttering exercises stalled out. Freecycle and the impending home improvements/repairs are helping us resume this activity. The carpet remnant got given to a new home, and our 8-foot bookcases are being retired this weekend. The bookcases have been in the family for nearly 30 years, but they are just walnut veneered OSB, so I shouldn't feel so attached to them.
