damnit.
looks like we won't be making Portals tomorrow after all sadly.
first and foremost, we cannot kennel the dog because he has not had a kennel cough vaccine. we found a place that's in our budget, but they won't take him because of missing that, and we don't have enough money to get it done and still pay the kennel fee. I'm ticked because the vet didn't mention that to us as even being an option or possibility, and we were led to believe he had received all his shots period. apparently not. thus far, no one is able to house sit or watch him for the weekend, so we can't even come for the day because there's nobody to walk and feed him in the afternoon/evening. our friends who did it last time wrecked their truck and can't make it to knoxville, and they can't take him @ their place because it's an apartment. ::sigh::
none of my coworkers can watch the dog, nor can any of Rick's, nor can any of our friends. I don't trust my neighbor because she's a total pot head and a bit flaky, and I don't know any of the other neighbors to ask. actually, that's not completely true. one coworker said she'd do it, but her own puppies were dog-napped right out their own backyard last weekend and their old dog got hit by a car. sorry, but I'm not willing to trust her with my dog, ya know? ::growl:: I'm just really ticked because I was totally looking forward to making the whole event this time! any ideas are welcome. if we had a dog house and an outdoor kennel it wouldn't be so much an issue, but we can't afford that right now, and I don't know anyone w/ a fenced yard that doesn't already have dogs who are territorial.
there's also the car issue. if it's not one thing, it's another. Rick's truck finally started to die on us, so we've been car shopping for the last week. he lost 4th gear completely then it came back then it started acting stupid in all gears, so we're afraid to drive it lest it die completely. at least this way we can maybe sell it cheap or get some trade in value. hopefully the guy from the dealership will call today and will have found what we want in our price range, but I'm just beyond holding my breath. oh well. gonna go clean kitchen and fold laundry. maybe we'll get a miracle or two soon. if not I might just cry. frustrated depressed Fer is NOT healthy for those around me. :(
