circle pit fest weekend
Circle pit fest weekened kicked off Wednesday night when a bunch of us went to the bike collective to set up for the fest. It was Ramsey,Mitch,Alan,Lanky,Lanky's friend(i always forget this kids name),Kate,Daniel,Zach,Casey, and two kids who just moved here from Michigan.. We got it cleared out very quick,then we headed over to joe squared. After that we all went over to the kids from Michigan's house on the avenue and hung out on their roof and drank beer.
Thursday-Went to my parents for Thanksgiving. Frightener and Alex Henderson came over and it was quite a treat. I fell in love with those dudes instantly. We had an awesome feast and we all hung out,and drank beer for a while. Then me and the Frightener dudes went up to meet up with dustin to head over the Josh's. Went over there and just chilled out and continued my quest for herb and beer. After that I headed home to await Gomek's arrival.
Friday-Gomek ended up coming over around 4am, of course they wanted to start drinking but I just went to bed. Draize showed up around 8am, I headed up to the coffee show with some folks around 10. Around 3:30 I headed over to the fest. At first it started off very hectic. It was taking for ever for bands to come, etc. But then it ended up going very smoothly. During government warning there was a minor fight, but it's not even worth talking about. LOJ was my favorite of the night. Their set was so much fun. Ian's roomate Fred was even doing a slide show on the ceiling. After the show was over, everyone went back to my house and we were up until about 5am partying. Me,Kenny from GW, sam from frightener,dustin and some other kid were doing gravity bongs in the middle of the road.
Saturday-headed over to the fest around 12:30. Two bands canceled so we ended up starting the fest at 3 instead of 2. Warpriest played one of the best sets I've seen them play so far. Slingshot Dakota ended up hoping on last minute also,which ruled of them. Braindead ruled and did a metallica intro. Gomek ruled as always and I moshed. Our set went really well I thought. People got into it also which made me stoked. It was Mitch's last show with us, so that kinda sucked and I don't think a lot of people knew. But it went as well as I could have wanted it to. After our set I was pretty much dead and felt like I was fucked up,so I just walked around a lot and didn't pay attention to a lot of bands(sorry!). Trapped Under Ice's set was insane,and under most situations I would have been fine,but I was grumpy and some fat fuck throwing a trash can just made it worst. But they ruled. After the fest was cleaned up,and everyone was gone, we all went back to my house for the partying. It was a really chill party, frightener came with Josh Hart, and we all headed up stairs to the weird hippie party where we witnessed my neighbors jump roping with an electrical chord.
Sunday-Sunday everyone left except gomek, so we pretty much cleaned, went to paper moon(which I always forget how bad and expensive it is), and then we went back to my house and layed down and watched Romper Stomper. Afterwards we all headed over to the gig in Silver Spring,which to my surprise was a lot better than I anticipated. Sean Pumphrey filled in on drums because Josh Riley was feeling sick. We played a short,fun set. We completely butchered infest so much that it was really funny. I believe that night there were 3 infest covers and everyone was off of No Man's slave and were all different songs. Gomek ruled more that night then they did at the fest. They even attempted to cover Murdario Stomp with me on bass. Adrien played drums and he never even heard the song. It was really funny. After that I took a break and drank a few beers with friends. Sick Fix was amazing, but someone called me a sexist during their set because a girl kept yelling for a cover and i said "stop being so pushy" and I suppose she thought I called her a pussy which doesn't even make sense. Someone confronted me about it was was like "it's really shitty what you said" and even when I tried to explain what I actually said and it doesn't even make sense of me calling someone a pussy,they still didn't believe me. I hate DC sometimes. After all this we headed back to Baltimore(where things make more sense in my head hahaa). It was tough saying goodbye to Gomek considering those kids feel like my best friends.
