Oh dear, the past month has been...overwhelmingly busy. Between everything we've been doing preparing the revisions for The Anatomy and Behavior of Dragons for the publisher, Philip's attempts to organize excursions to more dragon-populated locales, and...the wedding...I have had hardly the energy to log on to here. It's been almost distressingly ( Read more... )

I'm ... sorry about what happened, at the wedding.

It certainly wasn't your fault, Jordan.

That's what everyone keeps telling me, but it doesn't really make me feel better.

Still, I'm glad to hear about your book. Maybe I should pick up a copy, once it's been published.

You can't honestly blame yourself, though, for that...that thing...

Oh, it's hardly my book. My contributions are minor compared to Philip, Marta, and Baodelio's. But I can certainly acquire a copy for you once it's released!

But if I had just fought a little harder ... then he never would have gotten a hold on me. I can't help feeling that I failed, in a way.

Even so, you're an important contributor. You shouldn't downplay your research. Every bit counts!

I...hmm. I am unsure what to say, Jordan, when I really don't understand the nature of his...possession, I suppose.

That's true, I suppose, and the book wouldn't have any illustrations if I hadn't provided mine.

He took advantage of me in a moment of weakness and I ... didn't fight back. I was running away from the reality of my responsibilities again.

It has pictures, too? Drawn by you? Now I definitely want a copy!

One can hardly be faulted for one's action during a time of weakness. Weaknesses are characterized that way for a reason.

Indeed. I created and arranged all of the graphics and diagrams we included in the manuscript.

Even so ... Canaletto hurt a lot of people, using my body, and I have to somehow undo all the evil he's caused, if I can. It's the only way to absolve myself of this sin.

You must have worked very hard on all of those diagrams. Did you do them by hand?

That's...understandable, I suppose. Certainly, it's not my place to attempt to dissuade you from the attempt. Good luck, Jordan.

Of course!
