So I've started working at Woodside Tennis Club and I have to be honest, it absolutely blows ass. I had to get up at 7 this morning to open up and I'm fucking tired, man. I worked yesterday from 1-6 and rushed over to the restaurant to help out with a wedding banquet. I have to work again tomorrow from like noon to 3. I hate working desk jobs, it's so gay. I'm bored out of my friggin' mind so I thought I'd update this puppy.
I do get to help out with some clinics and have been named JTL Parent for the JTL High School Boys. Pretty much, I'm gonna be Ron Geldhof, setting up matches and getting paid to do it. The overall salary for this summer is not the greatest though, but it was my last option. If only I had gotten that internship, my life would be set for like the next 5 years. I'd be living at home, and as bad as that may sound, consider how much money I'll save.
I finished my 2 week intersession course on Friday. I was actually surprised how comfortable I was with public speaking. I usually hate it and will do anything to avoid it. However, all the speeches I delivered, I had notecards prepared, but didn't look down at them once. I just went up there and winged it and I actually have a shot at getting an A. I'm gonna start my history class tomorrow. I was gonna do Tues/Thurs, history from 1865-present, but that would take away tennis league matches every Tuesday nights. I've been flipping back and forth on this. However, the other class, history before 1865 runs Mon/Wed. The downside for this is that I won't be able to get more hours for work. Also, my parents only day off is Monday and I'm sure that they as well as me would like to spend it with them. But I think I am going to do the Mon/Wed, just because I feel something in my tennis game that I need to experiment with. I haven't played in 3 weeks, but I've been thinking a lot about it. I need to learn how to win. My strokes are there, have been there, and will always be there. I need to learn how to win and playing matches will help me do so.
Also, the best news that I've ever had, I received a tennis scholarship for this past semester. I couldn't and still can't believe it. I'm just glad that I was able to get something to show that the time, effort, and money put forth by my parents have not been wasted.
Considering that I'll be at work a lot now, I'll prolly update a lot more just to fill time. Only 2 more hours before I can go home and pass out!
